Wolda – Organic – Interview

First of all, I want to ask you, how are you and your bandmates doing right now?

Excellent! We used the past chaotic times for songwriting and recording and now we’re thrilled for the release of our new album.

Please introduce yourself and your Colleagues form Organic to me and my Followers a little!

First of all, there is Maxi, our „front-growl-boar“. He’s not only our vocalist, but he is the person behind the curtains, like merch, social media etc. We met him 2016 at a festival in Germany and that’s the story. almost …and prost! Then there is Benni playing the guitar, our (Death) Metal Veteran who saw the legends live in colour during the 90ies. On the other guitar is Dani, who came to us in 2019. Guitarist from hell and helped a lot with the songwriting and drinking, this kind of stuff you know. Our newest member is Juli, our thunderstorm on drums who has been with us since 2020, but with a lot of experience. And me, Wolda, on the bass. laughs

Summarized, five guys, five generations, but we all love old school death metal.

What can Metalheads expect from your second Album „Where Graves Abound“?

The album has its dosage of chaos and destruction within – just as chaotic as we are. Lots of hard hitting riffs with some melodies and slower parts.

Organic • Waste Monolith (Single | 2021)

About what is the Story of „Where Graves Abound“?

Its main aspect is war, the mayhem within, the suffering and the psychological destruction that people must face. This kind of stuff.

How did you get to sing about War and not about – perhaps – slaying Dragons?

Slayed just too much dragons in the past, we are more into the psychological aspect of battles and the realism.

How was it to make a Album in times of Corona? Even Italy was hard hitted by this fucker of a virus. I hope you and you’re Families were save and healthy!

Thanks, we got all through this without an Infection. This new situation was a shock for us like for everybody, but we used this period for writing this killer album. The only concerns, band wise, were, to do the recordings in the meantime with restrictions and what not.

Your first Single was „Waste Monolith“. It was a really nice one. Your second Singles was „Caged in a Tomb“. And „Knives“ was the last one to be released as a Single. Are there more to come?

Yes, we still have a lyric – video stored in our back pocket.

Can you please tell me a little about each Song in one sentence?

„Ropedragger“ -> The first track on the album can be described in many ways. A “ropedragger” is symbolic for the person who leads the group into war, so to use this title for the first song on the record was planned. It gives the tone of the whole album right away and sets the “playground” for what is next to come. We also had the idea to symbolise the word with a person who is about to hang himself and is dragging the rope to its final destination.

„Waste Monolith“ -> The second song is more or less about the protagonist diving headfirst into this abysmal battlefield. The only thing we can see is a giant monolith formed by mountains of dead bodies. Sirens surround us as the protagonist realises, he is in hell and he is nothing more then waste.

„Schizophrenic Execution“ -> This song describes the mental state in which soldiers can be found in war. Shock and terror roam the inner live of the warriors sacrificing their live. Schizophrenia is the only way out of this mental insanity.

Organic (Ita) – Caged in a Tomb (Single 2021 premiere)

„Caged in a Tomb“ -> the ability of self-control is the only way out of this trenchant despair. The realizations hits harder and harder that there is no way out of this grave.

„Fall, Rot“ -> In this track the death-machine with its trenchant smell rolls over everything. It is symbolized as the death brigade which roams the land.

„Where Graves Abound“ -> The title track describes this genocide as the utopia of the world. Everything is in a state of war, there is no escape. Down we go with all the ground, to a place where graves abound.

„Die Schwanzdirn“ -> love, death and alcohol

„The Howling“ -> we find ourselves in this near death state. We can hear our lives passing by and the last thoughts crumble to pieces. We feel cold and accept our demise.

„Knives“ -> Well, for the last track we decided to pack everything in one thing. The last thrust of adrenalin pumps through our veins right before we die. It’s a summary of the whole album and its themes.

What can we expect from „Organic“ in the near future?

If the situation allows it, we will play lots of concerts and we’re of course coming up with some new ideas for future projects

How about playing live? Are there any plans to play across Europe?

There are plans, hopefully outside Europe, too. But with C19 its a little bit more complicated. We’ll have to wait.

Do you have a fav Song on your upcoming Album?

Depends on the mood because there a some really strong songs on there. But at the end, all songs are a favourite of someone.

In which Formats will „Where Graves Abound“ come to us Metalheads?

Vinyl (swamp green, gold, white), CD and digital.

How about your Debutalbum and the EP „Death Battalion“ . Are „Carved In Flesh“ and the EP still buyable and if yes, in which formats and where to buy?

The EP is sold out. Maybe buyable if you ask nicely! laughs
But you can get the songs of the EP rerecorded with Maxi’s vocals on our first full length album ‚Carved in Flesh‘ as bonus tracks. Some editions of ‚Carved‘ are sold-out, but CDs and LPs are still available.

Is Heavy Metal and the Subgenres also a means for you to switch off everything in this hectic world, to Pause and just listen?

It depends on the genre. Metal music has for every mood the right style.

What was the best Album released in 2021 so far in your opinion?

Benni – Asphyx – last one on earth (reissue)
Dani – Ungfell – Es grauet
Maxi – Vinterstille – Gottes Fluach

And what was the best Death Metal Album released in 2021 so far in your opinion?

Where Graves Abound

What Band or Musician did influence you most in your musical life?

Zillertaler Schürzenjäger, good ol‘ swedish guys, good ol‘ hardcore guys, Bolt Thrower, Hail of Bullets, Deathrite and so many more.

Which Album was your first Metal Album bought of your own money, and why?

I know Bennis first was something early of Voivod. Mine (Wolda) was something of Cradle of Filth I think, because I liked he cover. The internet wasn’t necessarily accessible back then laughs. For Dani it was Ungfell – Tôtbringære

Get away from the music a little. What about hobbies?

We have two bikers in the band, gamers, and, obviously drinking and partying. For Sunday afterwards maybe a nice hike in the Dolomites or skiing.

If you got one wish…

A new wave of Metal in the charts would be nice. And to tour a fucking lot

A few words to your Fans out there in Germany and all the Others in the World?

Gfälligscht ba konzerrte aukreizn!
Translated to Englisch = Huge thanks goes out to everyone supporting us and for liking the music that we put out!

Thanks for the interview, „Wolda“ from Organic . Many greetings to all from the Band. Something that is important to me: Stay healthy and be safe!
