Born in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic, Sense of Noise is a Melodic Death Metal Project that mixes the speed and fierce of Death Metal with growls, an extensive use of catchy melodies on guitars and clean vocals, and a touch of modern production with musical influences from metal and other genres. The band consists of members with a remarkable experience in different areas of the music industry within and outside metal. Brothers Jerome and Bart Chanona have played at European festivals such as Wacken Open Air and Metaldays, as well as Knotfest and Domination Fest, also collaborated with David Vincent (ex Morbid Angel) on their previous band. Fede d’Empaire is a music producer in various genres; he produced Anna Fiori s most successful album “In Ohtli Tonalli” and recently founded a symphonic metal project Blind ʼ Hex. Diego Caná has played in international festivals such as Cumbre Tajín and the FILIJ.
Nib Sen has worked with members of Therion, Shining and Snowy Shaw in his experimental Metal project, The Outsider. The band recently recruited bass player Mao Rubio, who has been part of other metal proyects. In 2021 Sense of Noise has released three singles, the latest one “Zero Killed” features Björn “Speed” Strid from Soilwork as guest singer, he also makes an special appearance on the music video, they have also released the very melodic “Morning Glory”, which came out together with a beautiful animation lyric video, and “The Broken Hope”, their debut single released with an official video, all the songs have been produced and Mixed by Fede d’Empaire, and mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden. Lyrics of the band deal with life and death, from an optimistic but realistic and honest point of view. Furthermore, they add to their concept and lyrics small elements taken from the cultural roots of their homeland.
Tobi – Metal and Me
Nibsen – Sense Of Noise
Hello „Nibsen“ from „Sense Of Noise“. My name is Tobi. I run a Facebook page and a webblog. On this page I post reviews of current albums, interviews, band presentations and reports about concerts that I visit with my wheelchair. On the one hand, to tell other wheelchair users how the venue is equipped in terms of accessibility and on the other hand, how to best proceed to get tickets, which is usually not possible with conventional ticket portals.
In the future I will also write about hygiene measures, as this is important for me as a high-risk patient and for my readers too. Of course, I also write about the bands‘ performance. Today I have a few questions for you about 😊
First of all, I want to ask you, how are you and your Bandmates doing at the moment? Mexico is facing the Delta Covid Variant like all countrys sooner or later and i hope, that you are allright.
First of all thank you for your concern, we are all doing fine, yes we are having a lot of Delta Covid variant cases, specially in Mexico City but we are fine, still taking care and having sanitary measures, also a couple of the band members are being vaccinated, and the rest will follow in the upcoming weeks. So as long as we keep taking care we will be fine.
If you meet someone who did not now what kind of Band „Sense Of Noise“ is and what kind of Music you make – what do you tell him?
Well we will firstly introduce ourselves and the kind of metal we play (Melodic Death Metal), if they are still interested we would suggest give us a listen, specially our latest single ZERO KILLED which features Björn „Speed“ Strid from Soilwork, I would also suggest giving us a listen if they want to listen to something fresh and well produced
“Zero Killed (Feat. Björn “Speed” Strid)” produced by Fede d’Empaire | Mixed by Fede d’Empaire | Mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios!

How difficult was or is it, raising a Band in these pandemic times?
It’s been very hard, especially months ago when almost everything was closed and we needed to buy stuff for our videos/shooting, etc. Also in the filming of our videos we have had to work with a very reduced number of people, we have been finding out how to make everything work, but at the same time it helped us focus on the band.
Can you tell us more about the Members of „Sense Of Noise“? Just a few Words about your Bandmates. 😊
Well, it’s six of us, and something we like to share is that, even if this is a new band, we are all experienced on the music and metal industry, brother Jerome and Bart Chanona have even played in Wacken and Metaldays, they worked with David Vincent (Morbid Angel) with their previous band, Fede d’Empaire is an experienced producer, I (Nib Sen) have another project called The Outsider and have worked with people from Therion, Atheist, Shining, Snowy Shaw, among others. Diego is an experienced guitarist and bassist, as well as Mao, who has been active on the local metal scene for some time. We consider ourselves experienced enough to make this project work very well, but we are always learning, you never stop learning.
What brought you into Metal, in which Genre did you start, before making it „Melodic Death“?
We all enjoy many many types of music in and outside metal and we have some experience playing different styles. Diego and Fede are probably more involved in non-metal music than metal music, still they love the genre that we do, brother Jero and Bart are probably the ones who have been more closely related to Melodeath, Jero is a big fan of the genre. I have my other project which is experimental metal, dissonant and avant-gardish, but I have always enjoyed melodic music and especially melodic death metal. Regarding what brought us to the genre, we all have a different history, talking about my case, it was my family that have always listened to rock music, this evolved into listening to metal in my late childhood years.
Would you like to tell my Followers about your new Single „Zero Killed“ in your own Words?
It is our third single and features Björn „Speed“ Strid from Soilwork, which is one of our favorite bands and main inspirations as a band, having him on a track is like a dream coming true. He not only appears on the song, he can be seen on the video, which we worked very hard on. He sent some videos of himself singing our song, and we had to figure out how to make it fit on the video and make his apparition make sense, we did not wanted him just to appear with no reason, that’s why we have a couple of actors and a story, which all is linked to a whole concept related to the song, lyrics and artwork, everything is connected and we worked very hard to make all happen.
Do you have any other Songs released lately?
Yes, we released our debut single „The Broken Hope“ on february and our second single „Morning Glory“ was released on late april.
What can we expect in the near future from „Sense Of Noise“? Will there a Album or new single Songs?
Our debut albumis coming in October, with another single released before, the exact date to be confirmed.
From who or what do you get your inspiration for writing Music?
We get inspiration from our everyday life and life experiences, basically.
How did it came to work with Björn Strid? And how was it to work with him? Did you meet eachother?
It was a great experience, he easily got what we wanted him to sing and in which styles, he fits really well on the song and there were not many changes to make it perfect. He also sent recordings of himself singing our song the way we wanted. So overall it has been a great experience, for this we did not meet, everything was via mail, but we have met him before a couple of times.
How is it to you to stay in contact with Metalheads via social media in these pandemic times and to find out what the mood is like in the fans‘ camp?
I guess you have to be very aware of social media and keep it up to date since for now is the only way to get in touch with fans and spread your music, luckily we have had a lot of support from people around the world who find our music and like it.
How did you deal with the restrictions in the meantime? How much does it restricted you in your working life?
Almost all of us work on the music industry somehow, so many things are still restricted, it was hard for months but restrictions are not so hard anymore so we are finding our ways
Which Music do you prefer to relax?
For me it works any type of music as long as I like it
Which Band or Musician has inspired you the most?
There are many to name them all honestly. I would name two, Robert Fripp from King Crimson and Christofer Johnsson from Therion. But this is just speaking for myself, the rest of the guys probably have other musicians as inspirations.
And which Album, if you have to chose one?
In the Court of the Crimson King by King Crimson changed my life
Get away from the music a little. What about hobbies of you?
Definitely watching movies
Do you do „a normal Job“ beside making Music?
Almost all in the band work on something related to music as a regular job
If yout got one wish…?
I guess tour the world
