Tobi – Metal and Me
Josh – Buckcherry
Hello Josh! My name is Tobi. I run a Facebook page and a webblog. On this page I post reviews of current albums, interviews, band presentations and reports about concerts that I visit with my wheelchair. On the one hand, to tell other wheelchair users how the venue is equipped in terms of accessibility and on the other hand, how to best proceed to get tickets, which is usually not possible with conventional ticket portals.
In the future I will also write about hygiene measures, as this is important for me as a high-risk patient and for my readers too. Of course, I also write about the bands‘ performance. Today I have a few questions for you about your new Album „Hellbound“.
First of all, I want to ask you, how are you and your Bandmates doing right now?
We are doing great thanks, happy to be out of the house back on stage promoting this great new record dropping june 25th Hellbound.
„Hellbound“ is your 9th Longplayer how proud about this awesome number of Albums are you and are you still nervous when Release comes closer?
Always nervous about how the public will react and the response to the first two songs has been amazing, that being said we left no stone unturned and the record is a reflection of that so i’m proud.
The Track “So Hott” was released as first Single. Why did you chose this Song?
Just a great out of the box uptempo rock song that is refreshing and fun, something I think we need right now. Something you can dance and rock to.
Got some awesome Story from the Making of the Video to „So Hott“? I mean, that scene in the End reminds me on „The Walking Dead“ with that Guys walking brainless behind the Model. 😊
Wish I had more to give you on that but the truth is we shot this in two parts the band performance was in LA and Ria’s portion was shot in Las Vegas, she did a great job.
One of my favourite Songs is „The Way“ because of his intensivity and emotionality. What inspires you to a Song like this one and where do you get your Song-Ideas from?
Lots of things inspire me, but on the way Stevie and I were going through a lot in our personal lives and it always makes for good songs, that one is a masterpiece.
Andi, if you MUST chose which is your fav Song of the upcoming Album?
Can’t choose I like them all..
Who was the Artist for your Cover-Artwork and was inspired him to this cool Cover?
Mark Lettig is a tattoo artist out of Salt Lake City (zen Tattoo) he played bass on the first Josh Todd record and we have stayed in touch all these years. Back then I would see his drawings and loved his style and thought he would be a great fit for this, we reached out and he came back with that bird and the rest is history.
How is it to you to stay in contact with your fans via social media in these pandemic times and to find out what the mood is like in the fans‘ camp?
We do facebook live every show night out here on the road to stay connected to our fans and we also do lots of meet and greets on the road, we have the best fans..
How did you deal with the restrictions in the meantime, how much does it restricted you in your working life and do you switch off when you listen to Music and which Music do you prefer to relax?
I don’t let restrictions bother me I just create new goals to focus on, I continued to stay very busy throughout the pandemic that was how I coped with it. I like to listen to deep house music with no vocals to switch off and chill if it had vocals I would constantly be analyzing the song structures, words, and melodies it’s how i’m programmed at this point.
Which Band or Musician has inspired you the most?
Prince has inspired me most.
And which Album, if you have to chose one?
Around the world in a day, this record came after purple rain and I really connect with it still listen to it all the time.
Get away from the music a little. What about hobbies of you all?
I like to play tennis, it takes all my focus and gets me away from music.
Do you do „a normal Job“ beside making awesome Hardrock?
I have done lots of normal jobs, after I recorded Hellbound I served my community and worked as a phlebotomist and lab technician during the COVID crisis in downtown LA.
A few words to your Fans out there in Germany and all the Others in the World?
We love you, can’t wait for you all to open up so we can come and rock you!
Thanks for the interview Josh. Many greetings to all of you. Something that is important to me: Stay healthy and good luck for the Release of your new Album!
